It is perhaps one of the most brutal species that live in the Delta Quadrant. Originally spiritual and artistic people, soon decayed when famine and plague struck, which plunged the civilization into war as well as civil unrest. Through the years it adopted a philosophy that sacrificed individual freedom for the good of the society. The aggressive Cardassian military wanted to solve their issues by conquering other worlds as well as species. This lead to an era of expasion and conquest, which left civilizations in ruin.
